The Grade of Teak

Firstly and most importantly is the grade system given to Teak which are Grade A, B and C.

Grade A teak is the best quality and is taken from the heart wood at the centre of the tree. There are very few knots in the wood and there is a close grain on the wood. It has the richest content of natural oils to protect the teak over the years.

Grade B and C teak is from the outer parts of the tree and have less natural oils inevitably meaning it won’t last as long as Grade A teak. These grades are cheaper than Grade A and this means you can get a lesser quality product from these grades.

Our luxury teak garden furniture uses Grade A teak.

The construction

Mortice and tenon joinery is used where it’s needed. Luxury handmade teak garden furniture doesn’t have shoddy craftsmanship. This finish provides a strong and stable joint and has been used in carpentry for thousands of years. No ugly bolts sticking out of the furniture, just beautiful strong wooden joints.

Certified & Sustainable

Our teak is certified by the Indonesian government. This means only the correct trees are used and if too small or immature it stays where it is. In addition there are strict replanting schemes in place on these plantations. 

All of our teak furniture is constructed from the finest wood with the Indonesian Government Certificate.
